Mao Asada Triple Axel Appreciation Post

If you imagine the world frozen over, that would be awesome, because then we would get everywhere so much faster ‘cause we could just skate.

also like what is successful art differs from person to person but i am just really very much here for successful and solidly built narratives in things that utilize the body as tools to convey that narrative

which is like a roundabout sentence but i am a stories girl

i prefer the classical narrative ballets to some of the deconstructed stuff balanchine did because i need an engagement point and that is my personal thing

so even among the skaters i do like there’s programs i prefer to others but basically

like what you like, just don’t be a dick in public trying to stir up a fight that doesn’t need to happen (but go crazy in private, who cares)

every time someone asks me what my fave michelle kwan programs are or to rank them in any fashion

it always always (always) ends up with me on youtube double-checking that my rankings haven’t changed for anything but spot #1 (which is 1998 nats forever and always amen?)

one of these days maybe bolero or aranjuez will be the dark horse that steals the race*
